“Tambre is less expensive for the same procedures and offers extremely high-quality technologies. We live in the US, but decided on Tambre after a fairly exhaustive search. I am able to speak about my experience doing duo-stim IVF with ICSI and genetic analysis of embryos in November 2023 with an embryo transfer in June 2024. After experiencing not-so-great but definitely expensive IVF in the US in 2019, and doing lots of research, we believe Tambre used the very best protocols and relied on the most up-to-date research. We really benefited from technologies such as Chip Fertile and GERI incubator that weren’t available in our location.

Tambre is run efficiently and they communicate effectively. We had a few initial online visits with doctors at Tambre. They provided useful information and answered our questions fully. Once I arrived for an extended stay in Madrid, I was quite impressed with how efficiently the clinic was run. I also very much appreciated that it didn’t feel like a hospital and didn’t have pictures of babies.

In particular, I was impressed with how well staff communicated with each other and with me. It’s clear they have made a real effort to coordinate care so that no matter what doctor you see, they can quickly understand your case and make sure to get your treatment right. We did have a few surprises like our doctor changing just before I arrived and my care coordinator changing just before embryo transfer. But all the changes were managed smoothly.

Also, whenever we asked for a consult with the doctor, the coordinator was able to schedule something within a week or two– at least compared to the US, this is average if not above average. And for more urgent issues, the clinic was always very good about fast scheduling. Communication in English was always good.

Tambre is staffed by compassionate and caring professionals. A real bonus for me was the fact that so many staff are women, at all positions within the clinic. Regardless of gender, all the staff seemed entirely committed to maximizing my chances of pregnancy.

Tambre is transparent about their success rates. I think transparency about outcomes is important, and also an understanding of what “success rates” means. I was able to ask for and receive professional estimates about our chances of success.

Tambre achieves better results. Importantly, I had three very different results from IVF cycles, which is not uncommon. We have done three full fresh rounds of IVF. In 2019 (IVF cycle in the US), we had only one mature oocyte that didn’t implant. In 2023 cycle 1 (IVF cycle at Tambre) we had 7 mature oocytes, 4 of which fertilized properly, 2 of which made it to day 5, and none of which were genetically normal. In 2023 cycle 2 (IVF cycle at Tambre) we again had 7 mature oocytes, 5 of which fertilized properly, 5 of which made it to day 5, and 4 of which were genetically normal. So, it took three full cycles of IVF to get even a single good embryo, but when we did get one, we actually got four.

The Tambre protocols were very similar to each other with a few minor adjustments, so the difference between our second and third IVF rounds was essentially biology and whatever other environmental factors science doesn’t fully understand. Our results at Tambre were in any case much better than our results with our US clinic. I think this is the result of better protocols, Chip Fertile (for our situation essential), state-of-the-art incubators, and honestly, because the staff cares. I will add here that I am now 24 weeks pregnant. I had a long-term very annoying reaction to the progesterone that couldn’t easily be treated, and I got Covid right after transfer (traveling home to the US), but the embryo transfer still worked in our case.”
